Theme, graphics & soundtrack

Games that bear the Chinese/Far Eastern theme usually have quite an extensive following, but Golden Empire will easily stand out due to its vibrant and colorful graphics. The reels are transparent with semi-symbolic background set in gold framed temple. The sides of the reels have flickering Oriental lanterns, while there are shining specks of dust which fall. A Chinese lute is used as a soundtrack. These include two dragons, tiger, golden fish and a golden bird as well as ten down to ace of playing cards in lower tier. When you win, the winning symbols shine briefly and sparkle whilst your payout amount appears clearly on reel three.

How to play Golden Empire

1. Once the game loads, you will see a brief splash screen that shows a brief overview of the game’s main features before taking you to the reels.

Golden Empire review: our verdict

Among the hundreds of Far East-themed free play slot machines, Golden Empire is likely one; but at Slotzix this is one of the first Iconic Gaming free slots to be included. It appears as a typical 5×3 video slot but there are 243 ways to win and multipliers added to free spins which makes this game more interesting than it may seem. In contrast with most free spin games that come with multiplying factors growing gradually, Golden Empire grows its multipliers by one every time it gives a player a chance for the next rotation. Comparably however, I have seen limited wins on the bonus feature in different places. This apart, we were able to activate many more instances of the free spins than average during our test run; although this might have been due to the settings on the demo version – RTP and variance are not known though.
