Theme, graphics and soundtrack

The designers have almost certainly chosen to use instantly identifiable Ancient Egyptian imagery.

This means a backdrop of an Egyptian temple with Anubis, the dog-god, statues on either side of the reels.

A close look reveals that they are not quite what they seem – their heads and hands are not completely still; instead, there is a slight movement from them as well as their bodies that are swaying slightly: all of this gives a bit of goose bumps. Gold dominates the scene but it is not in crude shades – it’s actually very elegant with sweet blue touches here and there.

The bright blue reels are adorned with symbols that have been drawn in a decidedly bold manner as well. The symbols contain some alluring animations and pop of additional colors upon their landing onto a payline.

In relation to the musical score, it is more or less what you would expect, with slight suggestions of the martial beats and melodies from Indiana Jones theme on a minor key all played using loud sounds of brass instruments.

The RTP for Indi is not so generous at 95.2%. The variance is not specified but seems to be low to medium with some moderate wins coming quite often.

How to play Indi

The Book of Scarab symbol is a scatter symbol.

If you get three or more Books at any place on the reels, you will be awarded eight free spins.

The free spin round is extended by 8 additional free spins if three scattered books appear on any free spin. At the start of a game, an expanding symbol is chosen randomly. It can then expand to cover a whole reel and potentially lead to some big wins.

If a second round of free spins is triggered, another sign will be picked at random to replace it.

Gamble Feature

At any point during the game, the gamble feature is available. To the right of the spin button are buttons for gambling or collecting. Once you land a winning line, you can either opt to collect or gamble.

Indi review: our verdict

The young team of G Gaming appears genuinely committed to online gaming’s prospects and clearly determined to be a major developer.

Indi is not as bad of an attempt as some people may think. There is something bold about co-opting such a film reference and the pictures were not too cartoonish or portentous. The biggest problem with the game is that there aren’t many bonuses. In fact, it won’t take much coding to incorporate elements such as multiplier symbols, mystery rounds, and spin wheels into the game.
